A cool, Vegas way to ponder Eagle Crest Golf Club, part of the Golf Summerlin three-course rotation, is like thinking about a 7-card stud poker game made famous by the World Series of Poker vs. the fun, daily casino game of 3-card poker.

The smaller, lesser known game may not come with the notoriety of the big brother made famous by Doyle Brunson and Phil Helmuth, but the “little” game will still pack a punch and create plenty of excitement. That is the case when thinking about Eagle Crest Golf Club in comparison to its big brother and big sister courses of Palm Valley Golf Club and Highlands Falls Golf Club, the other two layouts at Golf Summerlin.

Eagle Crest Golf Club is a beautiful par 60 executive course designed by esteemed architect Greg Nash and World Golf Hall of Fame member Billy Casper. Palm Valley and Highlands Falls were also designed by Nash and Casper but are par 72, full-length courses.

Nash and Casper went to work in the Las Vegas desert and created three local and visitor favorites in Golf Summerlin and one of those happens to be Eagle Crest, best described as “a fun executive length Las Vegas golf course that offers an affordable and quick golf option in the city that glitters.” Overall, the rates at Golf Summerlin are among the lowest in the valley and offer a nice value. Such is the case at Eagle Crest as well, a course featuring 12 par 3 holes and 6 par fours. You will play in about three hours, and you pay a value rate for the experience. It is the perfect course to hone your short game, bring your beginning golfer friends or family and just to have a wonderful time.

Water, sand, flowers, canyons, views and quality golf accent Eagle Crest. And just like the course’s player designer (Billy Casper is one of the game’s best-ever players, but is often overlooked in the discussion) the Eagle Crest at Golf Summerlin is top tier and worth the play. As far as 3-card poker? You can walk away a winner and as happy as you would if won a heads up all-in against Brunson.

Ante up at Eagle Crest soon.
